Report Date: January 15, 2021
The new year kicked in and 2020 is behind us. It’s starting to even look better in 2021. The fishing has been red hot offshore doing three-quarter-day fishing trips from 8 to 2. We have been producing mahi-mahi and wahoo offshore. We have also been catching a few blackfin tuna on those overcast days in New year fishing trips.
To catch the blackfins we use a planer, with an eight-hook squid rig. It is super effective and we also see nice mahi down deep. Speaking of mahi, using naturally rigged ballyhoo is my bait of choice. We always run a nice skirt or a mold craft mini in front of the bait. It’s effective in keeping the baby clean and swimming correctly – always pushing off the weeds. If you notice in this sketch we did four wahoos underneath a pallet – a few nice mahi-mahi also.
Miami deep-sea fishing has been productive aboard the Seacross. Captain Ralph and his crew are sure to put you on Fish. So get ready to have a great time and like we always say…
“Only on the Sea Cross”
